DSL rollout in Karachi and Lahore
25 - 30 sites per day as of April 2006 for just CyberNet. You also have four other players - Multinet, World call, HRI and NTC. Assume an equal distribution of installations and you have 100 DSL nodes being added to the grid every day. That is 36,500 broad band customers every year with 2 - 3 users per household.
Case in point. Our family. We took a 128 K home connection for approximately 1500 per month. Pay for six months in advance and you get the modem for free. Plug in a wifi router and four users can use the DSL bandwidth without any problem across two floors.

Hey I have also recently signed up for Cyber Xtreme DSL..... am waiting for it since they said it'll take 10-15 days... which service are you using and how is it??
I have the 128K connection at home and then we have the regular Cyber DSL connections at both our offices (128K and 256K). It is certainly much much faster and convenient than dial up and not as expensive. Plus it in with a wireless router and you can work on your laptop from the comfort of your bedroom.
Cyber has its down days but overall service quality is decent and their customer support group is reasonably helpful.
I hate multinet and worldcall with a vengeance.
