The Karachi update

Met Mustafa Kamal, the 32 year old Mayor of Karachi in Shanghai. We were there for the ASOCIO trip, he was there to revive the Karachi-Shanghai sister city relationship (did you know that, I didn't).

Here is what Kamal is upto:

A signal free zone from the SITE industrial area (one end of the city) to Karachi airport (to the next). For all the non-Karachites and non-desi's out there, please note that this city of 18 million people, till very recently was without a single underpass.

Our very first underpass took more than a year to dig and put together. And now we will have multilple underpasses, over heads bridges and interchanges all put together in less than 4 months.

Any one else and I would have taken a pass (forgive the pun), but the progress on the interchange, the overhead, the underpass and the energy we saw in Kamal and I am going to bet otherwise.

Ofcourse it will be a #$%*& getting to work and back
